Procedures for the Second Opinion
The first thing to be clear about is that the Second Opinion is NOT A CONSULTATION, it is the opinion of an expert regarding a disease already diagnosed and with a proposed solution on which a person (patient, relative, doctor, etc.) wants TO KNOW AN EXPERT’S OPINION on the situation.
It requires sending as much information as possible about the patient and the disease and very clear about what you want the opinion. The request is sent with the information and when it is analyzed in SMC by the doctor in charge of the Second Opinion and it is considered correct, the payment is summoned, which is 445 USD. Once the payment is confirmed, a response is given within seven (7) days.
The response is an expert’s report containing:
- Description of the clinical case.
- Expert's opinion, where he/she gives an answer to all the requirements of the application.
- Expert's recommendations.
- A brief Curriculum Vitae of the expert giving the opinion is included.
A “Radiological Report” may be requested, in which case, it is necessary to send:
- Patient information.
- Radiological images.
